The Short Version

Your files never leave your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit your files. No storage anywhere. You can verify this yourself.

How It Works

All PrivateGPT tools process files entirely in your browser. AI models run locally via WebGPU. No file data is sent to any server.

What We Don't Collect

• Your files (PDF, Excel, documents, images)
• The content of your files
• Your chat conversations
• Your API keys (stored only in localStorage)
• Personal information or user accounts

API Key Mode

If you use your own API key: only extracted text sent to the API you chose, directly from your browser. We never see, proxy, or log these requests.

How to Verify

Open DevTools (F12) > Network tab > use any tool. Zero file-upload POST requests.

Cookies

localStorage for theme preference and optional API key only. No tracking cookies or analytics.
